Lane Markings? What are they?

Friday, December 16th, 2005

Been a while since I posted, so its time for a rant. I’m pretty certain that everyone who drives will have had one or two dodgey experiences where you’ve ended up in the wrong lane whilst driving. We are all human and we all make mistakes, but you’d think that people who travel at peak times probably do it every day and as such, should know the lanes on the roads they use. (more…)

Tech Support Gripes

Saturday, October 15th, 2005

Given my line of work, I wouldn’t consider myself to be stupid… so why is it that tech support workers often consider me so???

Litigation Block – Factor 15

Thursday, July 28th, 2005

Everytime I read a story like this one I wonder just how much more of our personal responsibility for our own welfare we’ll be parming off on someone else over the next 10 years or so. (more…)

Computeach Ad

Tuesday, June 21st, 2005

I really am quite tempted to write to the ASA about the Computeach ads that are currently airing on Channel 4 et al.

The ad goes something like ‘I’m a software engineer, working from home spending more time with family’… the guy saying it is drilling a hole in the road. Now, given that these guys sell IT training, you have to assume that they are saying being a software engineer, a web designer or an IT manager is better than your current job. Well, in some respects it could be, but they don’t exactly give you the whole picture, so here’s a few comments from the other side of the fence. (more…)

Congestion Charge On The Railway

Tuesday, June 21st, 2005

We heard recently about the road charging proposals… so, as a motorist I think to myself, I like my car, but I’ve commuted on the train before… its not so bad and for places like London, its great. Now this… ‘ Rail ‘congestion charge’ proposed’ (more…)

£1mil To Encourage Minorities Into Countryside

Friday, June 10th, 2005

Unless I’m blind or just really unobservant, I don’t actually recall seeing any signs or any other items which may or may not deter the minorities of this country venturing into the countryside… they would use the same roads as the rest of us… the same means of transport… the same footpaths… so why is £1mil going to be spent trying to encourage the minorities into the countryside? Road Charges Could Crucify The Less Well Off

Thursday, June 9th, 2005

Here we are on the verge of what I can only describe a one hell of a messed up scheme designed to address the increasing levels of congestion on the countries roads. So, as a motorist, here’s what I think about it. (more…)

GTA Is Not For Kids – Period

And here we have another politician jumping on the ‘GTA is destroying our society’ bandwagon… this time its Hillary Clinton. (more…)

Springer Show Offends Christians

Thursday, March 31st, 2005

I came across this on the beebs news site. The gist of the article is how the beebs governors decided not to uphold complaints received about the Jerry Springer musical, but what bothers me most is the increasing number of attempts to censor television, radio, the stage and other entertainment mediums on religious grounds. Airport Too Noisey? Races To Noisey At The Local Circuit?

Tuesday, March 29th, 2005

I feel like I’m becoming a really whingey old woman, but people in this country are (I’d love to swear) unbelievable. What is wrong with you people??? Don’t you have any common sense? Don’t read planning applications? Don’t consider whats around you when you purchase your homes? If you answer yes to any of these, you get no sympathy from me when something springs up in your back yard that you don’t like. (more…)
