Delphi Stuff
Those of you who read Erikens article on Pascal Game Development about women in game development will already know a little about me, but for those of you who haven’t, allow me to introduce myself. I’ve been working with Pascal for nearly 17 years. I started with Turbo Pascal 3.3 and over the course of the next 6 or 7 years moved on up through Turbo Pascal 5, Turbo Pascal 7 and then onto Delphi, although I will admit Delphi 1 scared me off for a while. The paradigm shift from straight procedural coding to the event driven paradigm blew my mind and took me quite a while to get used to. Since then, I’ve developed all sorts of systems with Delphi including 2-D fractal generators, complex sales order processing systems and the latest and by far the greatest of my endeavours The Outer Reaches – The Second Beginning, an on-line browser based space strategy game.
I like to think I’m pretty good with Delphi, but that does not mean I’d consider myself a guru, and well… if you spot a mistake or something which isn’t quite right, or you have questions about the articles I write, please feel free to drop me a mail at athena at outer-reaches.com (Replace ” at ” with “@”).
